Music industry leader RocNation has teamed up with one of its biggest artists for a scholarship opportunity for students who are interested in music. Students will soon have the opportunity to apply for The Stallion scholarship and study music at the Roc Nation School of Music, Sports, and Entertainment. The Brooklyn-based school will offer scholarships to students throughout the New York area who demonstrate a passion for music and are academically gifted. The students must also have financial hardships to be considered. The scholarship was founded and promoted by rapper Megan Thee Stallion, who not only is one of RocNation’s breakout artists but a college student herself. Megan Thee Stallion is not only the promotor of the scholarship but will also guest lecture at the RocNation School.

Megan Thee Stallion and RocNation CEO Desiree Perez share the same values that are a core principle of the school. They both want to identify students with music ambitions and provide a way for them to attend college without financial burdens. Music is a lucrative avenue in which people can garner numerous opportunities. Along with educational opportunities, music and entertainment can also be an avenue to access carer opportunities. What can start as a passion can become a means to build finical opportunities and elevate their living situations.

Desiree Perez hoped that by opening the RocNation School, she could help nurture those who have a passion for music and entertainment and help them recognize career opportunities. Desiree Perez has worked with RocNation since its founding and was formally named CEO in 2019. The RocNation school is one of the many philanthropic social causes projections where RocNation is directly or indirectly involved. RocNation has dedicated and pledge to help minorities and people of color access resources and opportunities to uplift themselves and their community.
